With family in town for the holidays I got a request for cupcakes (naturally) at our annual Christmas Eve gathering. I was excited to try something new, a spin on holiday flavors...I decided on white chocolate cupcakes topped with a chocolate peppermint buttercream. The cupcakes turned out more like a sponge cake and tasted more like a sugar cookie than "white chocolate" but still seemed to go over very well with the family. The buttercream was definitely a smash hit.
